Hikurangi Hosts Rally of Whangarei  

Hikurangi is again hosting two events in 2022 for the International Rally of Whangarei.  With four courses open to the rally drivers across the district of Hikurangi, we are also hosting their refuel twice in one day in the main township of Hikurangi.

Here's what's happening for each event:  both on SATURDAY 14TH MAY 2022

Rally - The Race

The drivers will make their way across four legs of the course, twice during one day.  There are areas across the course where public are able to go and view the cars in action.  To purchase tickets for this CLICK HERE.

Refuel  - Meet the Drivers

Between each round, the drivers will come in to Hikurangi township to refuel their cars and refuel themselves with a bite to eat.  During this time the public is able to view the cars up close and meet the drivers.  There will also be rally products available on site that you can get signed by the drivers.  

We will have food and drinks available on site so you are also welcome to come along for lunch. All profits raised from the food sales will go towards supporting the costs of running the new Hikurangi Shuttle Service due to start operating in May 2022.

During this day there will be road closures due to the refuel event.  The corner of George Street and King Streets (outside Rouse motorcycles) will be closed for the duration of the refuel times.  Alfred Street and Church Street will be open as the detour route, however if you live in the zone that will be closed for the refuel it is important to ensure you do not need to leave or arrive at your property in a vehicle during the refuel times.  Please see the map below for details of the closed area of road.
