Hikurangi Christmas Festival and Parade

The annual Hikurangi Christmas Festival and Parade is back in 2023 and we are proud to be able to host this event as one of only three parades set to take place in Northland!  Come along with your family and friends and enjoy a morning of fun!

Set aside the date Saturday 9th December and come along to watch what always proves to be a great Christmas Parade!

Here's some of the things we've got going on on the day:

Markets

Our street stalls will be back lining the street with all sorts of awesome stuff to buy, why not try a little Christmas shopping?  Our stalls will be open by 9am and will stay open as long as they like (approximate end time of 1pm).

Food Vendors

We will have a selection of food vendors on site in the Hikurangi Hotel carpark available for food and drink purchases throughout the morning and lunch time.  Our local food shops will also be open for business.

Entertainment

There will be some children's entertainment available on the day, with the kids bungee on the school field and other children's entertainment scattered around in the immediate vicinity of the main village.  All children's entertainment is free. 

Parade

The parade is set to start at 11 am with all floats starting from the field at Hikurangi School, heading down Kings St and turning at the Church St/Alfred St Loop, then heading back up King St to the school.  If you are interested in entering a float or walking group in the parade, please email friendship@hikurangi.co.nz for more information or for a registration form.  Arlene from The Hikurangi Lions will be in touch with any further information or instructions closer to the time. 

Santa's Grotto

Santa's Grotto is back this year so you can bring your family along and have photo's with Mr and Mrs Claus!  The back room of the hall will be open from the side entrance (by the playground) and Santa will be there between 9.30am to 10.30am for photos.
