Hikurangi Event Changes
Due to covid 19 restrictions in level 2 or 3, or in level orange or green, we have had to make changes tot he up coming end of year events that were planned for Hikurangi. More information provided below:
Hikurangi Fireworks - POSTPONED
Due to the inability to monitor and maintain social distancing, the Hikurangi Fireworks Extravaganza has been postposed to align with Matariki celebrations in 2022. The proposed date for this is Friday 24th June, however that will be confirmed closer to the time.
Hikurangi Community Dinner - GOING AHEAD
The criteria in place means that we are able to proceed with this event with a few changes. Firstly the seating will be allocated with 1m social distancing rules, and secondly dinner will now be served instead of a buffet. RSVP's are essential and need to go to admin@hikurangi.co.nz or text/call 021 616 755 by Friday 12th November 2021.
Hikurangi Xmas Parade - CANCELLED
Due to the inability to manage social distancing, scanning/sign in requirements, and under 100 people attendance limit, there is no way the parade could proceed under any of the alert levels. We hope for this to be able to proceed in 2022.
Hikurangi Xmas Festival - GOING AHEAD
The Xmas markets and harvest festival are able to proceed under alert level rules, however the markets must be contained to an "event facility" to support monitored social distancing and scanning/sign in abilities. Therefor the markets will be contained at the Hikurangi Hall premises. The markets going ahead is dependent on the amount of bookings, so the final decision will be made on Monday 29th November 2021, with the markets/festival planned for Saturday 11th December 2021. For any bookings or inquiries please email friendship@hikurangi.co.nz or phone 4338 452.
